Glendale CEREC Dentist Answers Patient Questions Regarding CEREC Crowns

Written by Dr. McKay on Jan 28, 2014

Our Glendale dentist office believes that every patient deserves to have a smile that is healthy, structurally sound, and attractive. We understand, however, that many patients do not have a lot of extra time to spend at the dentist office. That is why we are so happy to offer our patients CEREC crowns—crowns that can be completed in just one day. Today we are answering just some of the questions that patients pose regarding this dental treatment.

Q: How long, exactly, does it take to have a CEREC crown placed?

A: The exact length of your treatment process will depend on how much restorative treatment you require. However, we can tell you that it normally takes between 5 and 20 minutes for the CEREC machine to craft your customized crown. In other words, our dental team can make your crown while you are undergoing treatment!

Q: How do you know that my crown will fit me?

A: Our dental team will actually use a 3D imaging system to get a detailed diagram of your tooth before we begin to craft your crown. We then take the data from this scan, and upload it into the CEREC program, so that the milling machine will shape your crown to fit you perfectly.

Q: What are CEREC crowns made of?

A: Your CEREC crown will be milled from one continuous piece of porcelain. Porcelain restorations are durable, white, bright, and luminous. Keep in mind that your restoration can be shaded to blend with your natural enamel shade.

As you can see CEREC crowns are useful for dental patients of all ages. Our Glendale CEREC dentist office is here to provide you with all of the information and personalized recommendations that you need. Just give our office a call or contact us through our website to get started.
