Glendale CEREC Dentist Answers Your Questions About Fast Restorations

Written by Dr. McKay on Sep 9, 2014

Our Glendale dentist office has found, by working with many different types of patients over the years, that it is sometimes legitimately difficult for patients to find enough time to undergo necessary dental treatment. Consequently, our dental team makes a concerted effort to make dental treatment quick and easy for people. One way that we do this is by offering CEREC same-day dental restorations, and CEREC is what we are going to be talking about today!

Q: What does CEREC mean?

A: “CEREC” is actually an acronym for “Chairside Economic Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics.” Basically, CEREC is a technology that empowers our dentists to create your dental restorations (like crowns) right here in our Glendale office.

Q: How is a CEREC crown going to be different than a regular crown?

A: CEREC crowns are always crafted from high quality, sturdy porcelain. So if you have had crowns or restorations made of other materials, please be aware that your CEREC restoration will be porcelain. The other major difference has to do with the time that it takes to place your permanent dental crown. With CEREC technology our dental team can attach your crown in just one appointment. If you go with a conventional crown, you will have to come in for multiple appointments in order for your crown to be completed (this is because your crown will be created in a lab off-site).

Q: Can CEREC help my damaged tooth?

A: In order to find out for sure, you need to meet with a dentist who can evaluate your smile. For the most part, if your tooth can be repaired with a conventional crown, it can also benefit from a CEREC crown.

Don’t get stuck with a damaged smile. You’ll find that it is faster and easier than ever before to get restorative dental treatment from our Glendale CEREC dentist office.
