Glendale CEREC Dentist Walks You Through The CEREC Treatment Process

Written by Dr. McKay on Jul 12, 2016

If you experience dental damage or infection, and you end up requiring a dental crown, our Glendale CEREC dentists are here to make restorative treatment as simple and stress-free for you as possible. To learn more about how CEREC crown treatment works, keep reading this short explanation!

So, let’s say that you come into our dental office with some kind of existing dental problem: perhaps a tooth is infected; maybe you have cracked or chipped your enamel. The first thing our dental team will do is assess your tooth and determine the extent/severity of the damage.

We will then remove any infected dental material, and any damaged dental material that is no longer stable. Once this step is complete, we will recommend either a filling or a crown to restore the remaining tooth; a dental crown is capable of rebuilding significant portions of missing enamel and dentin.

In order to craft your crown our team will prep your tooth, and take the necessary measurements and impressions of your tooth structure. We then input this information into the CEREC machine, so that the machine can mill a ceramic crown to fit your exact tooth. This entire process is completed while you relax in the dentist’s chair.

Our dentist will then check your restoration on your tooth, in order to ensure a perfect fit. We can then polish and refine the crown if necessary. Finally, we bond the crown to your natural tooth so that it forms a stable and comfortable connection.

Thanks to this innovative technology, you can come into our office with a damaged smile, and leave the same day with an attractive and functional dental restoration. If you have additional questions about CEREC crowns, or any other restorative dental options, please feel free to contact our Glendale CEREC dentists! We look forward to speaking with you.
